Aloha,
I was born and raised here on Maui. I'm an island boy through and through, but still share the feeling of being proud to be an American, and am sincerely grateful for the freedoms and opportunities made available to us by the greatest nation in the world. I have been blessed with a lovely wife of 11 years, a 6 year old son, a 4 year old daughter, and was born into a loving and supportive family with roots in Hawaii going back to World War II. My professional career has primarily been in the construction industry, starting in the field as a carpenter, but then coming back into project management after graduation with a degree in finance from UH Manoa, moving into renewable energy.
Living here in Hawaii has become more and more difficult as time goes on. I believe this is directly due to the fact that the Democratic Party has had unanimous control of the State for more decades than I’ve been alive. We have severe homeless problems, high taxes, heavy regulations, and one of the highest costs of living in the nation. While this overwhelming Blue control can be disheartening, and can even lead many conservatives to not disclose their opinions to others, we cannot continue to place blind trust in our economy working itself out. I feel this apathy needs to be fixed, and in doing so we can turn this State around. The draconian response in 2020 to COVID was the last straw for me in sitting idly by while our government destroys our economy and personal liberties.
I’ve recently decided to run for office in our State House of Representatives after a lot of careful thought and prayer. I have no background in politics other than my personal beliefs and opinions. I’m a young conservative who’s grown up in a State of once great glory, that has (seemingly) lost all sanity as of late. We are a naturally beautiful place, but also carry what one may argue as the most uniquely rich cultural and historical significances of any State in this great nation. However, the main reason I feel motivated to do something is because I want to be able to look my children in the eye and say that I did something to preserve our way of life and protect our community.
I would be incredibly humbled and appreciative to receive your support in my candidacy for office.
